Fight epic battles with your favorite Dragonball Z characters in Shin Budokai 2 for PSP, featuring enhanced gameplay and story mode.
This chapter in the *Dragon Ball Z* saga follows Future Trunks in a grim timeline where the evil wizard Babidi has appeared, unleashing chaos that spirals into a reality-spanning conflict. To stop him, Trunks joins forces with time-traveling versions of Goku, Gohan, Goten, and other Z-Warriors. Though they initially thwart Babidi’s plan to revive Kid Buu, the threat escalates when an army of Super Buu copies swarm the future, pushing our heroes to their absolute limit. To end the conflict, they must unite their strength to achieve ultimate power, wipe out the Buu clones, and defeat Kid Buu once and for all. In the end, Trunks uses the Dragon Balls to undo the devastation and restore peace to Earth, finally crushing the villain’s dream of multiversal rule.
While *Shin Budokai – Another Road* is a direct sequel that retains the core fighting mechanics of its predecessor, it stands apart with a completely new story mode centered on Trunks’ future. The game features seven distinct modes, an expanded roster of heroes and villains, and even faster, more intense battles that truly feel like clashes between the strongest fighters in the universe.
A major new feature is the ability to bring two support characters into battle. While managing them adds a layer of complexity, it also opens up exciting new strategic possibilities. Another key addition is a card-based power-up system. You earn cards from victories or buy them in the shop, each one boosting stats like health, attack, or energy. The strategic depth comes from how you arrange them—some cards even strengthen adjacent ones when placed on the board.
While some dedicated fans of the original *Shin Budokai* felt the new story and card system weren’t groundbreaking enough, the game remains a solid, fast-paced fighting experience. For newcomers or casual fans, it’s an accessible and thrilling entry worth checking out.
