Dive into intense 2D fighting action with BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II on PSP, featuring a vibrant roster and dynamic battles.
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II continues the story days after the events of Calamity Trigger, plunging players back into the hierarchical city of Kagutsuchi—a place now buzzing with rumors and unease. After Ragna the Bloodedge’s raid and the appearance of a colossal star, the city is gripped by conspiracy and confusion. With no clear answers from the NOL, speculation runs wild. Amid the chaos, Ragna bides his time, waiting to pursue his true goal—until a new power emerges, forcing him back into action.
This installment retains the series’ signature 2D fighting style, where two characters battle on a single plane. Matches can be set from one to five rounds, with victory achieved either by depleting your opponent’s health bar or having more health when time runs out. The combat is driven by strategic use of special abilities like Distortion Drives, Rapid Cancels, and Counter Assaults, powered by an energy bar that fills as you attack, take hits, or block.
Key gameplay evolutions refine the experience:
-
The Guard Libra system is replaced by Guard Primer, giving each character a unique number of defense points. These deplete with each Guard Break, and when exhausted, trigger a Guard Crush—temporarily immobilizing the character.
-
To avoid this, players can use Barrier Blocking, which consumes half of the Barrier Gauge but prevents Guard Primer loss.
-
The Break Burst mechanic replaces Barrier Burst, allowing players to break combos and create space. It can be used twice per match, with the second use available only after losing a round.
With its deep mechanics, enhanced systems, and gripping story, Continuum Shift II delivers a polished and intense fighting game experience that honors its roots while sharpening its competitive edge.
