Step into the shoes of Death Jr. (or “DJ”), the rebellious teenage son of the Grim Reaper. His life takes a monstrous turn during a school field trip to the museum when he does the one thing Pandora never could: he opens her infamous box, unleashing an ancient evil upon the world.
Death Jr. is a action-packed 3D platformer where you take control of DJ on a mission to rescue his friends, who have been kidnapped by the evil necromancer Moloch. The souls of your captured companions are scattered across each level as collectible puzzle pieces, and it’s up to you to find them all.
Battle your way through 17 chaotic levels filled with demons and grotesque creatures. DJ is armed with his trusty scythe—which can be used both as a weapon and a tool to grapple to new heights—and a wildly inventive arsenal. This includes a shotgun, an electric rifle, and even explosive C4 Hamsters. By collecting widgets hidden throughout the game, you can upgrade your weapons and unlock powerful new scythe combos.
The combat thrives on chaos. DJ can destroy nearly everything in his environment, and the more consecutive hits he lands (on enemies or objects), the higher his combo meter rises. Fill it up, and his friend Pandora will jump into the fray to help out.
A fully controllable camera follows DJ seamlessly, allowing you to lock onto enemies, strafe while firing, and freely look around your surroundings to uncover all the game’s secrets. After each level, you’ll receive a detailed report card grading your performance based on enemies killed, damage dealt, combos achieved, and secrets found, adding plenty of replayability for perfectionists.
