Infected is a comedic third-person shooter where you battle zombies in New York City. As Agent Stevens, a cop who is immune to the zombie virus, you discover that your blood is a powerful weapon. Your goal is to use your unique blood to eliminate the undead.
The core gameplay loop is simple but satisfying. You shoot zombies to weaken them, then fire a vial of your blood into them. This causes the infected zombie to explode, spreading your anti-zombie blood to nearby zombies and creating a chain reaction of explosions.
The game was a pioneer in online PSP gaming, featuring a unique “viral” multiplayer mode. When you defeated an opponent online, your virus would “infect” their avatar, making them look like a zombie version of your character. As they continued to play and defeat others, your viral strain would spread across the online world. You could check a world map at any time to track the spread of your infection.
