Breath of Fire III: A Hero’s Quest for the Truth
Breath of Fire III is the first game in the series to be released on the PlayStation (and later ported to the PSP).1 The story follows a young boy named Ryu, a member of the ancient and extinct race known as the Brood.2 After being freed from a mine, he begins a journey not only to understand his own power but also to uncover the secret history behind the destruction of his people.3
Gameplay and Features
You control Ryu and his companions, each of whom has their own special skills that are essential for solving puzzles and defeating enemies.4 To succeed, you’ll need to work together and be creative with your abilities.
A key feature of the game is Ryu’s ability to transform into different dragon forms.5 By collecting and combining different “dragon genes” you find on your adventure, you can customize his final form and give him unique powers.6
The game also has a Master System.7 As you travel, you can find different “masters” who will take you on as an apprentice. By training with them, your characters can learn new skills and improve their stats in various ways.8 Capcom developed the game.9
