Capcom Classics Collections: A Trip Down Memory Lane

In 1998, Capcom released a five-part series in Japan and Europe called Capcom Generations, which brought 15 classic arcade and Super NES games to the PlayStation and Sega Saturn. Each volume came with extra features like a history of the games, tips for playing, and character profiles.

The success of that series led to the two-volume Capcom Classics Collection.

• Capcom Classics Collection 1 combined the 15 games from Capcom Generations with the games from Street Fighter Collection 2, for a total of 16 titles. This collection’s standout feature is the “Versus Deluxe Mode” for the Street Fighter II games, which lets two players fight using characters from all three included versions of the game.
• Capcom Classics Collection 2 features games that were not in the Capcom Generations series. This volume includes a special version of Quiz and Dragons that focuses on questions about Capcom itself.

Both collections are great for fans who want to revisit some of Capcom’s most iconic early titles.
