Death Jr.: The Grim Reaper’s Son Gets Into Trouble

Death Jr. is a 3D platforming and action game that puts you in the shoes of Death Jr., or DJ for short. During a school field trip to a museum, he and his friend Pandora accidentally open a mysterious box, unleashing an ancient evil and a horde of demons. The evil necromancer Moloch kidnaps DJ’s friends, and their souls are scattered in the form of puzzle pieces. It’s up to DJ to fight through 17 levels to rescue his friends and put the evil back in the box.

Gameplay and Combat

DJ’s main weapon is his iconic scythe, which can be used for both melee attacks and platforming. You can use it to reach high places and perform special moves. As you find more weapons, you can also use firearms like a shotgun, electric rifle, and even C4 hamsters to take on enemies.

The game encourages you to destroy the environment and defeat enemies to build up your combo meter. When it’s full, DJ’s friend Pandora can help you in the fight. As you play, you can collect widgets to upgrade your weapons and learn new scythe combos.

The game’s camera is free-roaming but can be snapped behind DJ with the press of a button. You can also lock on to enemies and strafe while shooting. After each level, you’ll receive a report card that grades your performance based on factors like the number of enemies killed and the amount of damage dealt.
