Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy serves as both a prequel and a complete edition of the original 2009 game. It expands the story to focus on the twelfth cycle in the epic War of the Gods, while also including the full narrative of the first Dissidia—now retold with updated gameplay mechanics.
The core action remains the same: defeat specific foes or chains of enemies in Free Mode, or battle through dungeons in Story Mode. While the fast-paced, arena-style combat will feel familiar, key enhancements keep things fresh. The new Assist System lets you call in another character to deliver a combo or even take a hit for you. Story Mode also now features an expansive, free-roaming world map, while the classic tile-based dungeons are accessed through gateways.
The roster is a dream for Final Fantasy fans, bringing together heroes and villains from across the entire series—from the first game all the way to Final Fantasy XIII. Character progression and deep equipment customization return unchanged, offering plenty of ways to build your favorite fighters.
