FlatOut: Head On slams onto the scene as a true successor to the chaotic FlatOut series, bringing its signature brand of destructive racing to a handheld platform. It features the same wild cast of drivers and all the crash-happy game modes fans loved in the first two games.
The heart of the experience remains the Championship mode. Here, you battle through a tournament-style series of events, earning points based on your finish in each chaotic race. The catch? You’ll need to land on the podium—finishing first, second, or third overall—to unlock the next set of events and progress. But it wouldn’t be FlatOut without its infamous minigames. These return in all their glorious absurdity, letting you launch your driver through the windshield to score points in events like bowling, basketball, and dartboarding.
For social mayhem, the game introduces a fantastic Party Mode. This lets up to eight players pass the system around to compete in a sequence of these stunt challenges, trying to outdo each other for the highest score. If you’re looking for direct competition, the game also supports ad-hoc online play for up to four players in a single race, letting you take the destruction to a friend.
