Innocent Life: A Futuristic Harvest Moon
Innocent Life: A Futuristic Harvest Moon is a spin-off of the classic farming simulation series with a number of significant changes to the formula. The game is set in the year 2022 on a southern island, and you play as a brand-new robot created by a scientist named Dr. Hope. Your goal is not to get married and start a family but to save the island from being destroyed by angry nature spirits. As you do this, you will learn what it means to be human.
Gameplay Changes
The game introduces many new mechanics and changes the way farming works:
- Protagonist: You play as a robot, and because of this, there is no marriage or romantic subplot in the game.
- Farming: You can now walk through your crops without damaging them. Seeds are bought and planted individually, and you can now carry up to 3kg of wild-grown items with a “Scale Pack.” These wild crops and flowers no longer grow back daily but have specific regrowth schedules.
- Time: Unlike in previous games, time doesn’t stop when you are on your farm. However, it does stop when you go inside other people’s homes. You can also choose to wake up earlier than usual by going to bed before 9 PM.
- Progression: The entire farm is not available at the start. You must explore caves and complete story quests to find gems, which are used to break the seals on your fields and expand your farm. This makes the game’s story and exploration just as important as the farming.
