Innocent Life: A Futuristic Harvest Moon is a spin-off of the classic Harvest Moon series, introducing significant changes to the traditional formula. Set in the year 2022 on a southern island, the game puts you in the role of a robot created by Dr. Hopes from Volcano Town. Unlike previous games in the series, you cannot marry, and your primary goal is to save the island from angry nature spirits. To succeed, the robot must learn to develop more human-like qualities.
Gameplay Changes
The game makes many changes to the standard Harvest Moon gameplay:
- Farming: You can now walk directly through planted crops without damaging them. Seeds are bought individually for a 1×1 square, replacing the old 9×9 bundles. Dropping crops or flowers on the ground for an extended time no longer spoils them.
- Wild Crops: Crops that grow in the wild are no longer available daily. They now have specific regrowth schedules, and you must use a special “Scale Pack” to gather them, which has a 3kg carrying limit.
- Time: The game’s time no longer stops when you’re on your farm, but it still pauses when you enter other people’s homes. You can also choose to wake up earlier if you go to bed before 9:00 PM.
- Exploration: Your entire field is not available from the start; you must break seals to expand it. You get the gems needed to break these seals by progressing through story quests and exploring caves.
