In Marvel Ultimate Alliance, the infamous Doctor Doom has assembled a terrifying legion of villains known as the Masters of Evil. For the very first time, over twenty of Marvel’s greatest heroes—like Spider-Man, Captain America, Wolverine, and the Silver Surfer—must put aside their differences and band together to stop him.

You’ll assemble your own dream team of four heroes from this massive roster, choosing any combination you like. There’s a special bonus for pairing up classic teams, like the Fantastic Four or the Avengers, who unlock unique powers when fighting together.

You start with just a handful of characters, but you’ll unlock more as you progress. The game incorporates RPG elements, meaning your heroes gain experience points, level up, and become stronger throughout the adventure. You’ll also collect S.H.I.E.L.D. credits to purchase permanent upgrades and stat boosts for your entire team.

The adventure takes you across the iconic locations of the Marvel Universe, from the glittering spires of Asgard to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. Combat is a satisfying mix of punches, kicks, and devastating superpowers. However, you can’t just spam your special moves—each one drains your energy meter. The key to victory is strategically chaining your team’s powers together to pull off incredible combos. You’ll replenish your energy by collecting blue orbs dropped by defeated enemies.

The boss battles are truly epic, comic-book-style showdowns that will test both your reflexes and your strategy. With a staggering cast of over 100 Marvel characters and more than 20 fully playable heroes, the fan service is incredible.

You can play through the entire campaign solo, with a friend on the same couch, or with a team online. The gameplay builds on the foundation of 2004’s X-Men: Legends, offering a refined and expanded experience. While the core game is largely the same across platforms, the PSP version features three exclusive game modes, and the Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360 versions include additional levels not found elsewhere.
