MX vs. ATV Untamed is an updated version of the game MX vs. ATV Unleashed that keeps some of its original gameplay while adding new features. It includes four types of ATVs and bikes (with engine sizes from 250cc to 550cc), as well as monster trucks and off-road dune buggies.
Gameplay
Players can perform stunts and compete in six racing series: Supercross, Nationals, Opencross, Supermoto, Freestyle, and Rally. You can also take on the X-Cross tournament, which combines all the series. As you perform well, you can earn sponsorships, which give you better bikes. The game also features a Crash Camera, which provides a slow-motion replay of spectacular accidents, similar to MotorStorm.
Additional Features and Modes
Untamed incorporates several mini-games, such as ATV Hockey, Monster Truck Smash, and Tag. The game also supports online multiplayer.
Platform Differences
- The Nintendo DS and PSP versions are very similar to each other. The DS version has ten unique courses and three stadiums, but it only has a championship mode and a limited number of vehicles.
- The PSP version is more like the console versions. It features a variety of different competitions, including Race, One-on-One, Time Attack, Stunt Challenge, Stunt Race, Hang-Time, Combo Challenge, and Flag Challenge. It also has the X-Cross competition, which is called the MX vs. ATV World Tour. This version supports multiplayer with friends via Wi-Fi.
