Need for Speed: Undercover is the twelfth entry in Electronic Arts’ legendary racing series. Developed by EA’s Canadian studio, it marks a return to the franchise’s illicit roots, ditching the legal, track-focused racing of ProStreet for the high-stakes world of underground street racing. It was also the first game in the series to expand beyond consoles and PCs to the iPhone.
This installment places a stronger emphasis on storytelling than its predecessors. Players are thrown into an undercover cop narrative, competing to become the king of the underground racing scene while operating on the edge of the law. The story unfolds through live-action cutscenes featuring a cast that includes singer and actress Christina Milian as Carmen.
The developers packed the game with a wide selection of licensed cars, all of which can be visually customized and performance-tuned. As expected from the series, Undercover delivered a visual upgrade over earlier titles and featured a globally curated soundtrack to fuel its high-speed chases and intense races.
