During a high school field trip to a genetics lab with friends Harry Osborn and Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker is unexpectedly bitten by a genetically altered “super spider.” The next morning, he awakens to find his vision cleared, his body reshaped with new muscle, and his reflexes heightened to incredible speeds—so fast he can easily dodge attacks from his bully, Flash Thompson.
