The Lord of the Rings: Tactics

The Lord of the Rings: Tactics is a strategy game that lets you relive the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy. You’ll command your forces from the battle at Weathertop all the way to the final battles at Minas Tirith and Mordor.

Gameplay and Features

This game introduces a unique twist to the typical turn-based strategy genre. Instead of taking turns, both you and the computer (AI) input your moves at the same time, and then the actions of both sides play out at once. This system forces you to think ahead and predict your opponent’s moves, making the game faster and more strategic than other games in the genre.

The game includes over 24 stages and a large roster of characters from the movies, including heroes like Aragorn and Gandalf, and villains like Saruman and the Balrog. You can play through two separate campaigns, one for the forces of good and one for the forces of evil.

Between levels, your characters can level up, learn new abilities, and buy new equipment. Since most of the battles are small-scale skirmishes, the skills and gear of your characters are very important.

Multiplayer

The game also has a multiplayer skirmish mode for up to four players. Players use a point system to buy units and friends, then choose a map to fight on, trying to defeat each other’s teams.
