In The Simpsons Game, Bart’s newest purchase—the controversially violent Grand Theft Scratchy—is promptly taken by Marge, but not before a strange instruction manual materializes. After reading it, the entire Simpson family discovers they’ve been granted bizarre superpowers. Their playful experimentation soon draws the attention of the alien duo Kang and Kodos, who see Earth as their next conquest. Now, Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and even baby Maggie must become Springfield’s unlikeliest defenders—all while unraveling the mystery behind their new abilities and the true nature of their reality.

Structured like an interactive episode of the show, the game is split into 16 distinct chapters, each featuring cutscenes packed with the series’ trademark humor. The Simpson family finds themselves in a variety of settings—some familiar locations around Springfield, others parodies of famous video games like Medal of Honor (“Medal of Homer”) and EverQuest (“Neverquest”). Each stage is built around cooperative gameplay, with two family members working together. You’ll frequently switch between characters to combine their unique skills and advance.

Every member of the Simpson family brings something special to the team:

Homer can transform into a giant rolling ball or float using helium—and eventually learns even more bizarre forms.

Bart becomes Bartman, using a grappling hook to swing across gaps and his cape to ride air currents.

Lisa wields the “Hand of Buddha” to move large objects and uses her saxophone to confuse enemies.

Marge can rally Springfield’s citizens into a mob with her megaphone, while Maggie crawls into tiny passages.

Some abilities are limited and require collectibles to recharge, while others are context-specific. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions expand the experience with a free-roaming Springfield to explore between missions. You can visit iconic locations like Moe’s Tavern, catch the bus to travel quickly, and even stumble upon hidden dialogue and events—adding depth and replayability to this hilarious, action-packed adventure.
