Rockstar Games’ *The Warriors* is a gritty, squad-based brawler that expands on the cult classic 1979 film. Faithfully brought to life with the help of the original cast, the game starts months before the movie’s events, showing how The Warriors fought to build their reputation on the streets of Coney Island.
Their goal? To prove they’re strong enough to earn the respect of The Riffs, the most powerful gang in New York, and get an invite to a citywide summit that will decide the future of all gang warfare.
You’ll take control of all nine iconic members—Cleon, Swan, Ajax, Cowboy, Cochise, Snow, Fox, Rembrandt, and Vermin—through a series of missions that flash back to how each one earned their place in the gang. As the war chief, you’ll lead your crew on jobs that range from all-out brawls to stealthier objectives where getting caught means jail… or something much worse.
The open-ended missions let you live the gang life: mug pedestrians for cash, steal car radios, pull off smash-and-grabs, tag over rival graffiti, and stock up on spray paint. Between story beats, you return to your Coney Island hideout to train and boost your stats, patrol the neighborhood, review your progress, replay missions, or jump into quick-play rumble modes.
Combat is brutal, fast, and deeply tactical. Each Warrior has a unique fighting style, and almost anything in the environment can become a weapon. While most fights are straight-up brawls, you can also use subtle tactics—like distracting cops with thrown bottles—or perform stealth takedowns from the shadows. The fully 3D world encourages you to use the whole city, whether you’re escaping over rooftops, vaulting fences, or hiding in dark corners to ambish your enemies.
