Based on the beloved animated film, Up the game follows the adventure of Carl Fredricksen, the young Wilderness Explorer Russell, and the talking dog Dug as they trek through the Venezuelan rainforest. Their goal is to guide their floating balloon-powered house to the legendary Paradise Falls.
The game expands on the movie’s plot across more than 20 levels. While all the main characters from the film make an appearance, players primarily control Carl, Russell, and Dug, switching between them to utilize their unique skills. Each character has a shared health bar; if it depletes, it’s game over.
The journey is filled with environmental puzzles, obstacles, and missions that must be completed to proceed. Players will also face four major boss battles, including three encounters with Charles Muntz’s vicious dogs. A unique gameplay mechanic allows players to actively control the ascent and descent of the house itself, adding a strategic layer to navigating the dangers of the wilderness.
