Valkyria Chronicles II

Valkyria Chronicles II is the second game in the series and is set two years after the events of the first game. The story focuses on a civil war that has erupted in the nation of Gallia. A rebel group called the Gallian Revolutionary Army is conducting an ethnic cleansing campaign against the Darcsen, a minority group within Gallia.

The main character is not Leon, but Avan Hardins, a young man who enrolls in the Lanseal Military Academy to investigate the reported death of his older brother, Leon. Avan becomes the leader of Class G, a group of outcasts, and it’s up to them to fight the rebels and restore peace to Gallia.

Gameplay

The game retains the same BLiTZ (Battle of Live Tactical Zones) combat system as its predecessor. Gameplay is a hybrid of a turn-based strategy game and a third-person shooter.

• Command Mode: You view the battlefield from a top-down perspective, allowing you to select which unit you want to move.
• Action Mode: Once you choose a unit, the game switches to a third-person view, where you can move your character and attack enemies in real-time until their action points run out.

The game also introduces new mechanics like branching class promotions for your units and a system of smaller, multi-area maps that you must capture to progress.
