Following the defeat of the serpent king Yamata no Orochi, the cunning Da Ji managed to escape. She fled through time to the Heian period, where she corrupted Taira no Kiyomori—ancestor of the Taira samurai clan—twisting him into a half-demon thrall and binding him to Orochi’s will. Together, they began a dark campaign to revive their master.
Pursued by an alliance of samurai and the forces of the Shu, Wei, and Wu dynasties, the two villains split up to evade capture. To protect himself, Kiyomori summoned the legendary Sun Wukong along with two new demons, Gyūki and Dodomeki, and bound them with powerful seals. After breaking free, Sun Wukong chose to remain at Kiyomori’s side, intrigued by his newfound freedom. Meanwhile, Da Ji sought out Himiko, a powerful shamaness whose magic could bring Orochi back to life.
Building on the foundation of the first game, Part 2 delivers large-scale battles across eight campaigns set in vast, dynamic environments. A new “Dream Team” system lets you form a trio of characters connected by the story, unlocking powerful synergy attacks that can quickly turn the tide of battle. With 96 playable characters divided into Strength, Speed, and Technique types, there’s incredible variety—though the differences between classes are subtle enough not to restrict your playstyle.
The battlefields feel alive and chaotic, with constant updates from allies reinforcing the sense of a large-scale conflict. As in many action games, progression is driven by leveling up, collecting gear, and enhancing weapons through fusion—unlocking new skills and stat boosts that make your warriors even more devastating in combat.
