This year’s installment in the SmackDown vs. Raw rivalry delivers the most refined tag team action the series has seen. It introduces the new “Hot Tag” mechanic, devastating double-team finishers, and fresh interactive elements to make every multi-person match feel more dynamic and strategic.
The game boasts a massive roster of over 60 Superstars from Raw, SmackDown, and ECW. A comprehensive roster editor lets you keep the lineup current and even flip your created characters from fan favorite to hated villain (and vice versa). In a series first since Here Comes the Pain, this edition also brings back legendary wrestlers for you to play as.
The standout new feature is undoubtedly “Create-a-Finisher,” which offers an incredible level of customization. By mixing and matching from a library of over 500 animations, you can craft a truly unique signature move. These custom finishers can then be showcased—and even shared—during online matches.
For solo players, the game offers two deep story modes. “Road to WrestleMania” features six distinct storylines, including individual narratives for stars like Triple H, The Undertaker, and John Cena, plus a co-op story for Batista and Rey Mysterio. Replacing the familiar General Manager Mode is a new “Career Mode,” where you can guide a single superstar’s path to glory and level up your ultimate wrestler.
Rounding out the package are fan-favorite additions like the Highlight Reel video editor, the explosive new Inferno Match, grueling Gauntlet Matches, and expanded backstage areas for all-out brawls.
