Tekken 3: The King of Iron Fist Tournament Returns

Tekken 3, a 3D fighting game released in 1999 for the PlayStation, is widely considered one of the best games in the series. It builds on the success of its predecessors with a new cast of characters, smoother gameplay, and a variety of new modes.

Characters and Gameplay

The game takes place 15 years after Tekken 2 and features a new generation of fighters. It has a total of 20 characters, including returning favorites like Paul Phoenix and Law, as well as new characters like Jin Kazama, Ling Xiaoyu, Bryan Fury, Eddy Gordo, and Hwoarang.

Tekken 3 introduced several key gameplay changes:

• 3D Movement: The game now features a more fluid, side-stepping movement system. Characters can move in eight directions, including jumping up and down. This adds a new layer of strategy to the combat.
• Juggle Combos: The game’s new mechanics allow for more complex juggle combos, where you can launch an opponent into the air and hit them with multiple attacks before they land.
• Special Moves: Each character has a unique set of special moves and combos that can be used to defeat opponents.

Game Modes

Tekken 3 introduced a few new and popular game modes:

• Tekken Force: A side-scrolling beat ’em up mode where you fight through hordes of enemies, similar to classic arcade games.
• Tekken Ball: A fun, two-player mode where you play a game of volleyball, but instead of hitting the ball with your hands, you hit it with powerful attacks to send it flying at your opponent.

The main single-player mode is the Arcade Mode, which is a series of matches against the computer, ending with a final boss fight against Ogre. The game also has a multiplayer mode where you can fight against a friend.
