Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles is a full 3D remake of the classic Rondo of Blood, though it faithfully preserves the original’s 2D platforming soul. While the visuals have been beautifully modernized, the challenging level design and tight controls remain untouched.
Beyond the main campaign, the game includes a Boss Rush mode. Conquer it three times, and you’ll unlock a special minigame. But the real treasure lies in the unlockables: by completing certain in-game challenges, you gain access to the original Rondo of Blood and the legendary Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
This version of Symphony of the Night is a particular treat. It allows you to play as Maria Renard, much like the Saturn edition, but also features newly recorded voice acting and enhanced sound effects. While it doesn’t include the Saturn-exclusive content, it stands as the definitive portable version—staying true to the beloved Japanese PlayStation release while adding just enough new flair to delight returning fans.
