Madagascar is an Action game based on the DreamWorks animated film, allowing players to control the main cast of zoo animals as they escape New York and find themselves in the wild.
Plot and Progression
- Storyline: The game’s plot is identical to that of the movie, following the animals (Marty, Alex, Melman, Gloria, and the Penguins) as they flee the Central Park Zoo, traverse New York City, and end up in a wild jungle.
- Chapter Structure: The game is divided into chapters, each with its own unique set of objectives. Players only need to achieve one specific goal to move on, but they can return to complete all objectives later.
Gameplay and Characters
- Playable Characters: Players are required to play as a different character during each stage, and some locations involve all playable characters.
- Unique Character Skills: Each animal possesses unique abilities:
- Marty (Zebra): Kicking with rear legs, sneaking/sliding, and long jumping.
- Alex (Lion): Offensive skills like hurling fruit, claw attacks, and roaring.
- Gloria (Hippo): Powerful moves like tumbling, butt-bouncing, and hip-checking. She gains a head-plunge attack after consuming chili peppers.
- Melman (Giraffe): Head smash, tossing objects, spinning into adversaries, and the Helicopter maneuver for gliding.
- Penguins: Sliding, fishing, and a karate chop-like Finishing move.
Collectibles and Rewards
- Life Tikis: These can be collected to refill the Health Meter.
- Monkey Money: This in-game currency is used to purchase unique products at the Souvenir Shop, including mini-games and special costumes for the Madagascar cast.
